Raja Ram Mohan Roy had a profound respect for the traditional philosophical systems of the East, as he was well-versed in Sanskrit literature and Hindu philosophy. At the same time, he was a proponent of modern culture and desired his countrymen to adopt a rational and scientific approach. He advocated for human dignity and social equality for all men and women, integrating Western culture with the best features of Indian traditions. This synthesis of Eastern and Western thought was central to his reformist activities, making both statements I and II correct.
